Orlando Ortiz, Esq.
Orlando Ortiz is a senior associate with the firm and has over 18 years of trial litigation experience in criminal and civil law specializing in personal injury and PIP insurance. Before joining the firm, Mr. Ortiz served as a senior trial defense attorney for an auto insurance company in South Florida for 14 years. He also helped train associate attorneys, staff, investigators, and claims adjusters.
Prior to his work in the insurance industry, Mr. Ortiz had the privilege of working for four years at the State Attorney’s Miami-Dade Office. He served as lead prosecutor in numerous misdemeanor and felony crimes within Miami-Dade County. Mr. Ortiz has conducted over 60 jury trials.
Mr. Ortiz received his undergraduate degree in legal studies and minor in criminal justice from The University of Central Florida, where he was a founding member of the UCF Mock Trial Team. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Florida State University Law School, where he also served as assistant editor of the Journal of Transnational Law and Policy Review. He is licensed to practice in the State of Florida since 2002 and the U.S. Southern District of Florida.
Mr. Ortiz is originally from Chicago and has lived in South Florida for over 30 years. When not working, Mr. Ortiz enjoys spending time with his wife, 2 children, and his dog Ginger.
